What are stem cells?

How many types of stem cells are there?

1. Embryonic Stem Cells 

Embryonic Stem Cells are derived from an embryo that is developed from eggs fertilized in vitro. They are capable to differentiate into all cell types of the body that is different from regular cells which are able to reproduce more of its own kind of cell. 

2. Adult Stem Cells 

Adult Stem Cells are undifferentiated cells that are discovered among differentiated cells in a tissue or organ. They can develop into a limited number of cell types. Adult stem cells play critical role to maintain and repair tissues.

What is stem cell therapy?

Stem cell therapy is a kind of specifically technical treatment, using new and healthy cells to replace the old cells that are damaged by the diseases. The stem cells are extracted differently from specific organs and then they are injected into the organ that is destroyed from diseases, in order to replace the damaged cells. Scientists believe that newly extracted stem cells, have the potential to make organs function better.
